K. Hidaka, J. Nakakuki, Design Methods for Biomolecular Circuits with Plasticity,

In this talk, we describe a design method for such biomolecular circuits.

Abstract: This paper proposes a method for designing biomolecular circuits that dynamically change their function in response to repetitive input stimuli. In DNA computing, which constructs DNA reaction systems that perform the desired information processing, the circuit function strongly depends on the network structure and reaction rate parameters of the chemical reaction system. This means that it is necessary to design DNA circuits dedicated to specific circuit functions. We aimed to realise the 'plasticity' of DNA circuits, i.e., the initial logic is YES logic, but it changes to OR logic after repeated input stimuli in a two-input, one-output DNA circuit. The proposed method was validated by numerical simulations based on reaction kinetics using reliable computer-aided software.
