Kenta Hidaka, Takashi Nakakuki, Design Method for Biomolecular Circuits with Plasticity, Society of Instrument and Control Engineers, Systems and Information Division Conference 2021 (SSI2021)

This study proposes a design method for biomolecular circuits that can dynamically change their function in response to repeated input stimuli. In DNA computing, which constructs a DNA reaction system that performs the desired information processing, the function of the circuit is strongly dependent on the network structure and reaction rate parameters of the chemical reaction system. This means that it is necessary to design DNA circuits dedicated to specific circuit functions. Our aim was to realise 'plasticity' in DNA circuits. As a concrete example, we design a DNA circuit that functions initially as a YES circuit, which can be transformed into an OR circuit by repeatedly applying input DNA.
